Training schedule 2009 Devon

From March 2009 to December 2009

Certificate

You will be awarded the ‘Birthing Wisdom Holistic Birth Practitioner's certificate’ on satisfactory completion of the following:

• attending all teaching sessions. If you have to miss a session, arrangements need to be made to catch up.

• completing the various assignments required.

• attending 2 serie of childbirth education classes in your area as a non pregnant woman.

• familiarising yourself with your local maternity unit

• attending a minimum of 4 births (we will support you in this and some supervision is included in the cost of the training).

• teaching 2 series of classes under supervision.

You will then be able to advertise your services nationwide as a fully
recognized doula and childbirth educator as well as link up with other doulas and relevant services/trainings through Doula UK (www.doula.org.uk) and BirthCreation (www.birthcreation.co.uk).

We are in the process of registering with The Federation of Antenatal Educators (FEDANT), who is the registering body for Antenatal Educators in the United Kingdom. We expect to have completed the process by the time this training starts.
